PASIH provides support for communities to engage in sustainable natural resource management. This is done through advocacy to improve the quality of community life and management of natural resources. PASIH promotes the use of local skills, knowledge and traditional expertise in natural resource management and also offers practical support such as assistance in project preparation, planning, monitoring and evaluation using methods that involve the participation of local communities.

To support each activity, PASIH collects, processes, analyzes and disseminates information on natural resource management. Studies, assessments and group discussions are conducted to obtain data. Information and knowledge is disseminated through civic education, training, workshops and study visits for local communities.

In addition to campaigning, information dissemination and capacity building, PASIH also provides guidance, facilitation, and supports communities in improving their standard of living. We carry out activities in a consistent, gradual and sustainable manner with small-scale businesses and community organizations involved in agriculture, tourism and social entrepreneurship. This is done by sharing relevant technology based on environmentally friendly technologies and renewing the wealth of public knowledge in Siberut in the context of social change.

PASIH also provide a channel for networking between government, non-government organsations, international institutions and community organizations. These networks are leveraged to discuss community development framework aimed at achieving biodiversity conservation attention.
